The ToolGenie Privacy Guarantee
Your files never leave your device. All file conversions, compressions, cryptographic calculations, and media operations execute entirely in your local browser sandbox.
1. Zero Server-Side File Processing
ToolGenie operates on a “Browser-as-a-Processor” paradigm. When you drop a PDF, image, video, audio track, or code file into any of our tools:
- The file is read locally using the browser File API into your device RAM.
- Algorithms (compiled in WebAssembly, WebCodecs, or JavaScript) process the data in-memory.
- Output files are compiled directly into a local Blob URL for you to save.
- No byte of your file content is ever transmitted over the network to ToolGenie or any third-party server.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Because we do not use server-side processing for tools:
- We do NOT store or inspect uploaded documents, images, or files.
- We do NOT maintain user accounts or require sign-in or passwords.
- We do NOT collect credit card numbers, billing addresses, or payment information.
3. Local Storage and Client Preferences
We utilize your browser's standard localStorage API solely to preserve your preferred user interface settings:
toolgenie-theme: Stores your selected color scheme (e.g. Light, Dark, Midnight Blue, Emerald, etc.) so that the interface loads seamlessly without screen flicker.
This data remains exclusively on your machine and is never sent to our servers. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
4. Website Analytics
We employ standard web analytics (Google Analytics) solely to understand aggregated, non-personally identifiable site usage (such as total page visits, popular categories, and generic browser types). These metrics help us identify which tools to build next and improve site performance. Google Analytics does not have access to your local files or documents.
